Our Story

KiPet started with a $10 Craigslist ad and a puppy who didn't look like much of a bargain at first.

We got Missy when she had worms and was shaped more like a circle than a dog. One of the first things we ever bought her was a little green-apple collar from our tiny local pet store — and from that day on, she was family. Not "a pet." Family.

When Missy was four, she was diagnosed with a rare disease affecting her esophagus that made it hard for her to keep food down. We spent years in the ups and downs that come with that — the good days, the scary trips to the vet, the not knowing. Watching her go from a perfectly healthy dog to someone we had to fight for taught me something I didn't fully understand before: pets aren't just pets. They're some of the best friends we'll ever have — sometimes there for us in ways people can't be.

When we finally had to let Missy rest, it changed how I saw everything about caring for an animal. KiPet is what came out of that.

Every product in this store is chosen with Missy in mind. If I find something that would have made her favorite moments easier, more fun, or a little happier — the walks, the grooming, the everyday routine — I find a way to bring it to other pets and the people who love them.

That's still how I pick everything we sell: not "will this sell," but "would this have made things better for Missy." If it wouldn't have, it doesn't make the cut.
